My source for this item said “The leather had been cut into uniform rectangles. It was intended to match because it came from the same dye lot.”

The problem with that is my source didn’t have any information regarding the manufacturer or type of leather.

This item has 11 panels 36 x 70 inches written on the back of the outside panel.
The writing DOES NOT SHOW on the front.

I photographed all eleven pieces. Every piece measures between 35 1/2 and 36 inches wide and 70 inches long.

The photograph shows 2 pieces, one over the other and the reverse, to give an idea of the color match.

The total weight rolled on a cardboard core is 30 lbs. 5 oz.

I estimated the net weight of the leather at 29 pounds for calculations.

At 36″ x 70″, each piece is 17.5 square feet.

The weight per square foot calculates to 2.41 ounces per square foot.

I don’t know what the original intent was for the product.
It looks like it is nearly 200 square feet for leather upholstery.
The pieces had no holes.
The leather is soft and supple.
It was rolled on a tube to help keep it from straight and smooth.
The color is an antiqued effect, The photograph is a little darker, but otherwise a good match.
The appearance compares to the Tuscanny Brown or Distressed Brown from Tandy.
Two tone to add depth and contrast.
This would probably be considered trimmed to a single bend.
Cut from the back and side, trimmed with little or no waste. Because of the size, I believe this is cowhide.
There are some spots, or thin places where it would “cross over” the back. These spots show in the photograph as natural irregularities of color. See it here for more information (opens in new window)
