The Franciscan Tahiti pattern is one of the Discovery patterns.
Introduced in 1965, it is two-tone brown.
The lighter brown has been described as Mocha.
The Dark brown is the intense “Black Coffee”
Research indicates production and availability of the Discovery patterns ended in 1969.
Flat pieces have dots accenting the edge.

The platter is 13 inches long and 8-1/4 inches wide.
The plate is Mocha colored.
The Reverse is dark brown. The outer rim and dots are Mocha.
The dark brown Reverse provides background for the contrast.

The back is Dark Brown.
The stamp does not show.
The pattern is consistant with other pieces with legible stamps.

There may be scratches from use, but no chips, cracks, or crazing.

Discolored places in the photo may be from irregulaties in the fabrication or from reflection and flash.

I researched this item by dimension and found NO INFORMATION for a comparable sales price.
It may be more fragile due to its size or was an optional accessory and fewer were sold.
After research I have concluded that it is definitely MORE RARE than the smaller sized oval serving platter.
