The background appears to be linen.
The embroidered work has a nice sheen, silk or manmade fibers.
The back appears to have been pressed or ironed lightly to secure the threads of the embroidered work.
The edges are unfinished.
It has been stored flat or folded and rolled carefully to prevent creases.

It is suitable to mat and frame or finish and use as a pillow top.
