This auction is for a division of Phrag. Nitissidimum ‘ Neville’ with 2 spikes. The tag indicates it was awarded an AM from the American Orchid Society. Additional research indicates the award was later upgraded to FCC.

It is planted in 5″ square deep pot. There are several new growths. Some have started to fan to about 5″and more are starting around the base of the plant. It could be divided or dropped into a larger pot. There are some burned leaf tips on old growth.

This plant was a small division I bought at a fund raiser of my local orchid society. Like most novices I paid too much for a fresh division that was a little too small. It grew well, but I was forced to divide it after an unfortunate incident two years ago. (It blew off a table and fell out of the pot.)

It is planted in CHC, coir, charcoal, and perlite. I grow outside during the summer and use a combination of balanced and organic fertilizers. When available, I water my orchids with collected rainwater. The mix may look funky, but the phrags are growing and looking much better.
